KELCEY LORENZO WRITES – There doesn’t seem to be a lot of options when it comes to making a music video teaser. Single-takes have been done. Multi-parts are a thing of the past. So what can K-Pop groups do to rope in a wider audience for their tracks? Seven-member boy band, Infinite, recently adopted a fresh and interactive technique to promote their new album, “Reality.”  Playing off of the title of their 5th mini album, Infinite took viewers into virtual “Reality” with their 360VR (Virtual Reality) teaser for the music video of their new song, “Bad.” The video seems...

KELCEY LORENZO WRITES – Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) announced that it has banned top K-Pop group, Big Bang, from appearing on its weekly music show, Inkigayo.   It has been reported that the staff of Inkigayo had made the decision to ban the five member band when two of its members, G-Dragon (GD) and TOP, were not in attendance during an award ceremony where they had placed first with their song LOSER. After School Club (ASC), produced by Arirang, is a web-talk show that allows international fans (fans not domestic to South Korea) to live video chat with their favorite idols. The show’s MCs, solo artist Eric Nam, 15&’s Park Jimin, and U-KISS’ Kevin Woo, host the hour long show completely in English and also help in translating for the guest idols. Throughout the hour, idols talk with their fans through Google Hangouts, play games with...

K-POP KORNER: Crack the Code with EXO’s Pathcode Teasers

KELCEY LORENZO WRITES – After almost a year away and the departure of two members, boy group sensation EXO is officially back on the K-Pop scene. The now ten-membered group began releasing teasers for their new album “Exodus” on March 18th through the YouTube page of their entertainment company, SM Entertainment.
